Moments after her swearing-in the new City Manager, Ms. Elzeba Busienei, led a vibrant street procession to her new office. Accompanied by county officials, city staff, family, and well-wishers, the walk through the city’s streets was marked by jubilation, traditional celebration songs, and a show of unity from the city community.
At the City Hall, Ms. Busienei was officially received and handed the office. In her inaugural address as City Manager, she expressed gratitude to Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii for the trust he bestowed in her and promised to work closely with staff and residents to build a cleaner, more organized and vibrant city.
The celebrations continued into Eldoret’s central business district, where Ms. Busienei engaged directly with the public. She used the occasion to reaffirm her commitment to delivery quality service to the community of Eldoret emphasizing her handson leadership style.
She called her appointment a shared victory, Ms. Busienei highlighted the importance of community involvement in shaping the city’s future. She noted that her leadership would focus on empowering women, youth, people living with disabilities (PWD) and all residents.
Her first day in office sent a strong message of action, inclusivity, and positive energy. With the community behind her and a clear vision ahead, Ms. Busienei’s entrance marked a hopeful and dynamic beginning for Eldoret’s city leadership.
