The City of Eldoret has intensified preparations for the rollout of the Kenya Urban Support Programme Phase II (KUSP II), undertaking a comprehensive field assessment across key project sites.

The multi-sectoral exercise, led by the County Project Coordination Team (CPCT), focused on evaluating priority areas earmarked for infrastructure improvement and urban renewal. The assessment forms a critical part of the pre-implementation phase, aimed at ensuring readiness for the anticipated works.

Key interventions under KUSP II include city beautification initiatives and the installation of cabro-paved walkways and roads, designed to enhance urban mobility and improve the aesthetic appeal of Eldoret’s public spaces. The programme aligns with the city’s broader vision of fostering a sustainable, resilient, and inclusive urban environment.

Officials noted that the exercise involved site verification, feasibility assessments, and baseline data collection—processes essential for informing project design, budgeting, and implementation frameworks. The team also evaluated drainage systems, pedestrian corridors, and high-traffic areas to ensure the proposed upgrades meet required engineering standards and urban planning benchmarks.

The CPCT affirmed that the ongoing assessment represents a significant step toward delivering transformative infrastructure, laying the groundwork for a more modern, efficient, and visually appealing Eldoret.
